On Day 8, Shawn testified about dating Carolyn as a teenager, accompanying her to Jeffrey Epstein's Palm Beach house, and waiting outside while she went in. He said he saw her return with hundred-dollar bills and described women calling to request Carolyn for work, calls he said he relayed to Carolyn and used to arrange appointments. He distinguished those observations from information Carolyn or Virginia reportedly gave him, including a reference to Maxwell.

Shawn also described Melissa, whom he said was 16, going to the Palm Beach house with Carolyn and later going alone. He said she stayed about an hour and returned with hundred-dollar bills. The court admitted under seal a photograph Shawn identified as from Melissa's 16th birthday, and instructed jurors to disregard a separate answer after sustaining a defense objection.

On cross-examination, defense counsel questioned Shawn about his descriptions of callers, his uncertainty about an unidentified caller's accent or origin, and whether he had met Maxwell. Shawn said he had never seen, talked to, or met Maxwell. He also acknowledged taking money from Carolyn for gas and using drugs with her during the period at issue; the government declined redirect.
